ABOUT US

Nigerian Community Halton (NCH) is a dynamic non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving Nigerian heritage while fostering growth and development within the Halton region. Our community is built upon the pillars of professionalism and people growth, reflecting our commitment to excellence and personal development.

At NCH, we strive to create a resilient network for Nigerians living in Halton, the Greater Toronto Area, and across Canada. Our focus extends to supporting new immigrants, empowering youth, and promoting opportunities for women, while also nurturing entrepreneurship and ensuring every voice is heard.

We are deeply committed to adding value to the Halton region by:

Victor is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the energy and mining sectors, specializing in transformational projects that drive innovation and efficiency.

​As a dedicated member of various leadership teams, he has successfully spearheaded initiatives that have significantly impacted organizational growth and sustainability.
With a passion for entrepreneurship, Victor has founded multiple startups, leveraging his expertise to create impactful solutions in the marketplace. He is particularly enthusiastic about mentoring and coaching young professionals, fostering the next generation of leaders with guidance and support.

In addition to his professional endeavors, Victor enjoys the creative process of designing new products, merging functionality with innovation to meet evolving market needs. He believes in the power of collaboration and is always eager to explore new ideas and opportunities.

Highly experienced Information Technology consultant with 34 years of expertise, having worked with prominent banks and financial institutions across Europe. Adeolu is dedicated to harnessing his skills to drive NCH's mission and objectives forward.

A global citizen, Adeolu, has lived in various European countries before settling in Canada. He is deeply passionate about community service, advocating for the less privileged and socially disadvantaged.

Leadership Philosophy:

Adeolu is a strong proponent of collaborative management, fostering community partnerships, and bringing together diverse groups to promote inclusive representation.

About nene
Nene Judy Akintan is an Entrepreneur, Mentor, Speaker, Author, Realtor, Advocate and God’s unique creation. 

With degrees in Sociology & Anthropology, an MBA in Marketing, and an MSc in Management/Human Resources, she has excelled in banking, entrepreneurship, and real estate for over 30 years.

An award-winning real estate broker, Nene runs Oakville Living With Nene, delivering top-notch real estate services embodying integrity, compassion and excellence.

Nene and her young adult children Temi,Tife & Olympia run a family nonprofit I AM. I CAN. I WILL, supporting minority women and children.

Nene serves on several boards, including the Canadian Black Chamber of Commerce and Black Realtors Association of Canada. She enjoys reading, movies, learning and traveling.

Marie Green

Marie Green is an accomplished leader with over 17 years of experience and a proven track record in sales, credit underwriting, credit adjudication, portfolio monitoring, internal audit, risk management and governance. She is proficient both as a team leader and as a team player, with a demonstrated ability to build internal relationships at all levels in various financial service industries.

Marie is currently a Board Member at Kerr Street Mission and a Director & Team Lead, LDC at Meridian Credit Union. In her role at Meridian, Marie leads a team of Relationship Managers and Analysts tasked with developing a portfolio of land development and construction accounts crucial to Meridian, often involving lending amounts exceeding $20,000,000.

Marie holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Saskatchewan in addition to CFA and CPA designations.

Outside of work, Marie enjoys cooking some delicious and heathy food like Lentil moimoi, spending quality time with her husband, her two adorable children and friends.

Mora Olubobokun is a trailblazer in the world of finance, a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), and a Fellow of the UK Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). With over a decade of experience in public and industry accounting, she has established herself as a trusted leader and mentor, empowering the next generation of accounting professionals to excel.
 
Mora’s dedication to female empowerment is the cornerstone of her career. She became a vital force within the Black Female Accountants Network (BFAN), where her passion and vision led her to the presidency from 2018 to 2020. During her tenure, she spearheaded initiatives that uplifted and amplified the voices of Black women in the accounting profession, leaving a lasting impact. Her contributions to the community earned her a place on the prestigious 2022 list of Canada International Black Women Excellence’s “Top 100 Black Women to Watch.”

Currently, Mora is pursuing a Global MBA at the University of London, UK, where she is expanding her expertise in leadership, strategy, and innovation. This journey reflects her unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth as she positions herself to drive greater impact on a global scale.

Beyond her professional achievements, Mora is a passionate lifelong learner and adventurer. She finds joy in books, movies, and documentaries, and she cherishes traveling and creating lasting memories with her husband and their two adult children.

Abi Adekitan

About abi
Abi Adekitan is an independent trainer and facilitator with over a decade of experience. She specializes in teaching soft skills related to behavior, communication, and resilience strategies.

With more than 16 years of experience in Human Resources, Abi and her husband co-founded Iree Community Agency, an employment agency offering temporary job placements. She also serves as the CEO of Abi Star Consult, where they provide training and coaching programs.

Abi works across various industries, including both public and private sectors, conducting short- and long-term training workshops.

She holds an advanced diploma in Human Resource Management from Humber College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning in Toronto, Canada, and a degree in Health Management from York University, Toronto.

Abi is a certified resilience trainer from the HeartMath Institute (California, USA) and a certified relationship and business coach.

Her personal interests include traveling, reading, volunteering in local communities, and advocating for underprivileged groups. She is passionate about supporting single parents through challenging times and aims to establish a non-profit educational center that teaches essential life skills and prepares individuals for a meaningful future.

Lara Olusanya is an IT Consultant with over 30 years of working in many IT roles. She wears many hats e.g. Data Architect for global corporations, Data Engineer and a Business Intelligence and Analytics Specialist. 

She is also an online BSF Bible Study Leader, A published author and a Mum.

Lara’s involvement in community work started at a very young age. Her Dad was a politician who worked very hard helping his community. He fought for the less privileged and marginalized people of Surulere. Lara aims to follow in his footsteps and be a voice to advocate for the less privileged. She is also passionate about being involved in a community that can create a safe haven for Nigerians living away from home. The elderly, students, new comers,  lone people and those looking for opportunities are those she aims to impact as they find a community and a home away from home that can cater for their needs.​
